Bachelor and Master's Theses

Interested in doing a thesis with us?

Great news, many of our graduates were able to publish a paper based on their bachelor or master thesis or they even received a best thesis award from TU Berlin and our scientific research communities.

Please do us a favor carfully reading the following information - this shows that you are really interested working with us!

These are the steps required to successfully register a thesis with TKN:

  1. Take relevant TKN courses. This is not mandatory but strongly recommended.
    • See what we offer for your Bachelor curriculum here.
    • See what we offer for your Master curriculum here.
  2. Think about your interests and strengths and how they resonate with the available topics below.
    • There is already a fit in the list of available topics? Great! Contact the responsible supervisor to discuss next steps.
    • There is no immediate fit? There might still be a team member working on an interesting topic. Feel free to contact her or him directly to discuss how you could contribute.

When contacting the potential advisor, please clearly indicate the topic you are interested in and the time schedule you have in mind for working on the thesis. To introduce yourself, attach a transcript of your studies so far and mention any previous experience relevant for the thesis. Also please indicate which programming languages you are familiar with. If you have (relevant) research experience, you can add a brief summary of your previous work.

Please note, we do not support external theses with companies we do not collaborate with

Helpful information

  • We have a bi-weekly meeting for all bachelor and master students to shortly discuss the current status of each thesis and to help with problems.
  • Some information on "how to write a thesis" can be found here
  • We provide templates -- please stick closely to this layout
