Telecommunication Networks (TKN)
The Telecommunication Networks group (TKN) at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, TU Berlin was founded in 1993 by Adam Wolisz. Since 2020, TKN is coordinated by Falko Dressler. The research mission is to explore theoretical limits of telecommunication networks, but particularly also to experimentally investigate such networks from a systems perspective. TKN is also part of CCS Labs.
Our research objectives include next generation wireless communication systems including 5G/6G, mmWave, and terahertz; joint communication and sensing using WiFi and modern channel sounding techniques; and in-body and air-based molecular communication. These telecommunication concepts are complemented by distributed machine learning and edge computing for improved resiliency.
