Abstract

At the department for Computer Networks and Communication Systems the Virtual Cord Protocol (VCP) was designed. It implements the creation of a virtual topology on the nodes of sensor networks, and enables the efficient routing in this network. The subordination of sensors belonging to one network to different domains raises a question of inter-domain communication. Through the creating of a routing infrastructure on a basis of an already existing virtual topology in subnets domains can be connected with each other. Based on VCP a method was designed, implemented and analyzed which enables the routing in all reachable domains. The experimental results show that both the routing infrastructure and heuristically estimation of routes lead to efficient delivery of data. The features of VCP were improved with this method. It is now possible to deliver and transfer data between the sensor nodes even in not adjacent domains.
